Lately I’ve been blogging about newborns, milestones, and maternity sessions, but I wanted to shine the light on another category I love to photograph – children!  Photographing children brings so much joy – to me and to their parents!  Parents often say they don’t have enough pictures of their kids – especially sweet ones of siblings together.  I try my hardest to get the sweet, traditional posed sibling shots as well as the goofy ones – which sometimes end up being parents’ favorite.

So many kids arrive at their session very shy and it is so rewarding to see them come out of their shells by the end.  Often times, kids will look at me like I’m crazy for what I try to do to make them laugh – but I’m okay with making a fool out of myself.  For me, the funniest moments are when I photograph older siblings and I ask them to hug each other – and yes – actually touch their heads together.  I always remind the older siblings that they’re there to make their mother happy and they usually suck it up, hug, and smile for me.

The photos below are just a handful of children I photographed during the 2017 fall season.  Locations come from Erwin Park in McKinney, Adriatica in McKinney, Prairie Creek Park in Richardson, Downtown McKinney, and Little Elm Park.
