Sweet April’s newborn session was very memorable to photograph. We did many shots to remember her older sister, Everleigh, who had lived about a week then sadly passed away about a year before April was born. Hence, why you will see many photos that included a rainbow…it’s a symbol to represent a baby’s passing.

I learn so much about families when they come to my studio and I remember how open and genuine April’s parents were when they spoke of sweet Everleigh. The love they have for both of their daughters showed so deeply. To honor Everleigh, April’s parents brought a rainbow from her nursery, a onesie, and Everleigh’s yearn.

Capturing memories like these is a big reason why I love photography…you just can’t get these moments back and pictures help bring back the strong feelings you felt in that moment. The Pugh family will always have these photos to look back on to remember the joy of being able to hold April in their arms and honoring sweet Everleigh’s memory.
