Allie and Kate’s twin newborn session went amazing! We shot these photos at their home in Dallas to make things easier for their mom and dad – I mean, traveling with newborn twins plus a toddler sounds pretty easy, right?! I brought along an amazing assistant which added to the smoothness of this session – being over prepared with an extra set of hands so that mom and dad could sit back and relax was definitely a plus!
Allie and Kate came into this world early at 32 weeks so we had to wait for them to get home from the hospital before we set a session date. They ended up being a little over a month old and slept so well during their session! Their mom, Lisa, wanted to keep things simple – less is best – and I love the outcome! Allie’s color is purple and Kate’s is pink so I tried to keep those colors on them often so I could tell them apart easily. Some other differences to help tell them apart are Kate is a little bigger than Allie, Allie has a strawberry hemangioma mark on the left side of her belly, and Kate has two strawberry hemangioma marks on the top of her head. They may be identical twins, but after being around them for a few hours and editing multiple photos of these sweet girls, I was able to tell them apart easily by the end.
I have known Allie and Kate’s parents since 2011. Their dad, Ryan, went to graduate school at SMU with my husband. They have been amazing friends to us and it’s so exciting to both have kids close in age. They also have a sweet 2 1/2 year old named Claire that was hands-down the easiest sibling to work with. She was striving for a cake pop and she definitely earned it by the end! Claire will be an amazing big sister!
