Sweet Sofia…I could squeeze those cheeks all day long! Sofia came to me at two months old for her semi-newborn session. I say “semi-newborn session” because she was a lot older than my typical newborn session…newborns are usually between 6-14 days for their newborn session. With Sofia being a little older, I knew she would most likely be more sensitive to touch and sound. I warned her mother that most of the sleepy shots would probably need to be wrapped or semi-wrapped and that was true in her session. As soon as her arms were free, her eyes would pop right open!

You want to know the kicker about this session? Her mom had been denied from other newborn sessions because she was too “old” for a newborn session…what?!? I feel that as long as you set the expectations where they need to be for an older newborn session, then I find mom’s are totally fine with not getting the typical newborn poses and are open to whatever their baby is tolerant to that day. All mom’s really want are adorable pictures of their sweet baby to look back on to remember this special moment in time!

As you can see below, I captured some adorable sleepy, wrapped shots as well as adorable awake shots. She was a calm, happy baby when she was awake so that allowed me to capture so many sweet moments.
