May’s newborn session was one of my favorites to create this year! Mom didn’t choose the traditional girl colors of pinks, purples, and creams – rather, she asked for blues and greens…it was a nice change to spice my creative juices up! Creating the floral wreath in the first picture was so much fun with the mixture greens, blues, and pinks.

2019 is the year of the PIG! When May’s mom mentioned she wanted to incorporate something for that since May’s dad is Chinese, I called a great friend of mine – Nicole from Loop Da Loop Crochet – to crochet a newborn-sized little big for Miss May to hold (see below). We also incorporated an adorable piece of fabric that is actually May’s curtains in her nursery. I really think it is so special to incorporate extra pieces that are so meaningful to parents! Oh – and don’t let me forget to mention we also included mom’s wedding dress – so pretty!!

This was truly such a special session to photograph…May’s mother and father were actually at my wedding a few years back (as well as my husband and I were at theirs) so it was great to catch up and see how much both of our families had grown and changed. We may not see each other very much due to the demands of raising kids, but it seemed like barely any time had passed once we started talking!
